There was a very helpful article on vegans and vitamin B12 on the website Eat. Drink. Better.com. Please read it if you get a chance. Vegans need to be very mindful of the body's need for B12 and, unfortunately, a daily multivitamin pill doesn't always cut the mustard. A common myth - probably heavily perpetuated by the factory farm racket - is that B12 can only be gotten through animal products. As the Eat.Drink.Better. website points out, this is not the case. But you still have to make an effort to consume food that contains vitamin B12 if you're a vegan. Please check out this article. More importantly, please find out more about ways to give your body extra protein, vitamin D, calcium and everything else vegans need to stay healthy and strong. We're all in this together. And it beats the hell out of being an omnivore!
