I write a bimonthly column for the Waterloo Region Record. Today's issue was animal rights. Unfortunately, the Record cut out some information I included about the Canadian Animal Liberation Movement's (CALM) boycott of local Kitchener business Kaufman Furs, as well as the URL to CALM's website. To be honest, I think the Record editors are probably not wild about me using the editorial pages to advertise specific political struggles. But I'm glad the column ran. It is a nonviolent, Gandhian approach to animal rights. Moreover, for reasons I can't understand, I can't find it on the Record's Website. I do know that it is also available from the Guelph Mercury's website. I'll run it here in its entirety.
Outrageous protests do nothing to promote animal protection
